Infographic : Touch Interface Design Guidelines Cheat Sheet

I am at work, looking for HIGs that can give me information on what the ideal touch target size is for devices. Luckily, there's quite a few articles out there that talks about touch target sizes, with most of them referencing the iOS design guideline that states touch targets should be no smaller than 44 x 44 points (not pixels). Unfortunately, that particular dimension's original citation document is a now-defunct iOS developer page. Ah yes, the frustration of getting to a "page not found" page. Very inconvenient in this case because it is the primary citation for many articles. Still, while doing my research, I came across this infographic from Visual.ly. I thought this infographic summarized the dimensions nicely... when you can actually read it. I am never a fan of grey text on black background, and this is why. I understand the need to mute the text so that the visuals don't get cluttered. At the same time, a lot of the text that are deemed secondary to the visuals here are information that is needed to understand what is being shown. I find myself peering into my monitor trying to read the explanation text. The infograph is legible on my 23" monitor, but not so well on my 17" laptop screen. Maybe this was meant to be a large print-out?

Still, I am grateful for the thoughtful summary. It's still pretty handy to have on hand, so thanks Visual.ly!
